The S shape is always good advice though. The basic idea is that straight lines tend to look stiff.

I am metal pin anon from a few years ago. At the time i was going through the zoomer midlife crisis and posted everyday for an entire summer on one topic, metal pinned joints.
my central thesis was: hasbro can produce figures on the quality of import brands like mafex, by incorporating metal pins into their design, as well as using unique sculpts, and not shitting out 300 figures a year.
Along comes CT toys, an does exactly that. mafex quality toys for 20$. yes, we can all agree they are "bootlegs", but if some chink can do this in his parents sweatshop, hasbro could 100% do it for 30$. the only reason hasbro and mcfarlane suck is an intentional refusal to make toys for adults, instead chosing kid-safe joints.
we now live in an inverted world. the japanese shf is 35$ at walmart and the hasbro spiderman is 60$. I was trying to signal to you guys this would happen. Hasbro had its chance to change its designs, but now its too late and they arent making figures anymore. Mcfarlane still has a chance to make the switch and essentially provide budget mafex figures, but i doubt he'd do that.
I for one welcome our 20$ Bootleg overlords.

Target guest services employee, after I'd handed her an opened Marvel Legends figure for a return and refund: "I don't believe we can refund opened items of this type." Me: this is a first for me in several years of shopping here--is this a new policy?" Lady standing next to her: "No sir, this a long standing policy regarding opened items of this type." Me: "Why am I just encountering this now???"
I ended up getting the refund after speaking with one of the team lead whom I know pretty well, but it seemed really out of the blue to me, and even to him, and he said he'd speak to the employees and to Asset Protection about it in follow up. Just curious if anyone else has encountered this recently or if any current or former employees (asset protection, anyone?) would care to chime in? If this is going to be the standard practice at Target now as far as returns go, this seems like another good reason to cut back on toy buying, given the store isn't going to stand behind one of their brands.

-Hardware epoxy putties such as Waterweld, KwikWood, and PlasticWeld are similar to milliput, greenstuff, and apoxie, can be cheaper some times, and can be found at local hardware stores such as Lowes, Ace, and Home Depot.
-Bootleg figures make great custom-fodder, especially if the legit figures are pricey.
