That's true and not enough people can write like this. Though to explain myself I never like MCs so the dudes I love don't even appear before episode 3 or later.

That aside I often only really get into characters if they're not only hot and/or interested, relatable etc. on their own but having a good dynamic with at least one other character and this might sometimes take longer. The last time it happened one of my favorite characters only appeared in episode 4. I liked him instantly but didn't expect him to appear again so my hype was contained. Then he DID appear again in 5, but only short. It was only in episode 6 where he returned and it not only became obvious that he'll stay a reoccurring character, the other dude I ended up favoring only appeared in that episode as well as well as their great dynamic and this is what eventually got me.
