I'd recommend getting a more top-line m68, they make some parka variants that are fairly long and look like trench coats. It will also stand out a little more but be well recieved from the generic trench coat; it looks different enough to be unique but not enough to look stand-out or show-offish. It looks practical and fashionable.

It's the most basic theme of socioeconomics: buy the $300 pair of boots so you don't end up spending $1,000 on 15 replacement pairs of shitty boots in the same time it would take to replace the $300 pair.

On the level of personal preferrence too OP, I think that kind of jacket would look better for like an irish sea captain or french anarchist. The color is too marine. I don't know what kind of fit you're going for though so I can't give better advice in that regard.
