I'm sure there could be maybe some form of GC or easier abstractions that would be 90% of Rust performance but with 300% greater productivity. As much as I like doing crazy zero cost shit in Rust, I can see how unproductive it is, especially from people less experienced. I just expect that in the future l, market may demand something more practical at cost of small performance penalty.

Every general purpose programming language can leak memory. Java has been called memory safe before Rust even existed and it can easily leak memory.
