So much for being the operating system where you can do what you want, huh? Pretty sure BSDs adopted systemd because they were forced to, just like every Linux distro, in order to maintain compatibility with DEs and other software. And here you are saying:

Also, the cool thing about POSIX was that all those disjointed little programs, as you called them, could work with any type of Unix-like system. That's why BSDs could use so much Linux stuff. Parts of the system can be easily swapped with others and everything still works. Not so with systemd. Now all the programs are required to conform to that unquestionable monolith of packages and services sponsored by Redhat/IBM. Congratulations. You're on a corporate OS. PCLinuxOS is probably one of the last distros that's trying to "stick it to the man," but it's just a one-man operation, and he's having a hell of a time trying to get a modern Linux OS working without systemd/elogind.
