I disagree. Ironically enough, most NTR stories have a lot in common with Greek tragedies.
A traditional Greek tragedy is a story about a protagonist who leads a good successful life but has a critical flaw ("hubris", aka excessive pride) that leads to a reversal of fortunes (called "peripeteia"), which leads to "hamartia" (the downfall of the hero, usually ending in his death), and ending in "catharsis" (emotional cleansing for the audience).
A typical NTR story is like that. You have a protagonist who leads a good life with a loving family, but has a critical flaw - his poor judgment of character (which you can call hubris), ultimately destroying his life. Stories like Taimanin Asagi actually follow through with this - they get the male protagonist (if there is one) killed while the female protagonists are either killed or resign to a fate worse than death. This is good because it leads to catharsis for the audience - the negative emotions are expressed in full, and therefore expelled. Many NTR writers leave the endings (if there even are any) too vague and mushy for catharsis to occur.
