The next gamejam is upon us! And, as promised, the showcase will take place at marecon.
You might be telling yourself "But anon, you retard, marecon is two months away. Why are you making a thread right now?". Well, we're doing something special this time around, the theme for this jam won't be based around a singular concept, but instead it'll be about using assets made by your fellow anons! Made by (YOU)
What's an asset you ask? Well it's basically anything that goes into a game! Sprites, images, tilesets, sounds music, etc.
Here's how this'll work:

>Submissions can be either posted in the thread or sent by the email below
>The assets can be either audio or image
>The assets have to be freshly made, It can't have been already published on the internet. You can't just go on a booru and grab a bunch of images

Welcome to the Pony Voice Preservation Project!

The Pony Preservation Project is a collaborative effort by /mlp/ to build and curate pony datasets for as many applications in AI as possible.
Technology has progressed such that a trained neural network can generate convincing voice clips, drawings and text for any person or character using existing audio recordings, artwork and fanfics as a reference. As you can surely imagine, AI pony voices, drawings and text have endless applications for pony content creation.
AI is incredibly versatile, basically anything that can be boiled down to a simple dataset can be used for training to create more of it. AI-generated images, fanfics, wAIfu chatbots and even animation are possible, and are being worked on here.
Any anon is free to join, and there are many active tasks that would suit any level of technical expertise. If you’re interested in helping out, take a look at the quick start guide linked below and ask in the thread for any further detail you need.

Grinch deadline was January 1. If you have not either sent your gift or received approval from your Santee for an extension you are on the grinch list and will not be allowed to participate in future events.
IF YOU ARE A GRINCH AND RECEIVE AN EXTENSION:
You still have to send SOMETHING by February. It doesn't matter if it’s WIP photos or a lollipop and a note saying the real gift is literally just waiting for the plushmaker to finish it or whatever. But send something ffs. February 1 if you haven’t sent your extension expires and you are a grinch. A lot of Santees are very patient, but this will not stretch into March of 2025.

This is in regards to Twilight Sparkle from Season 1/2, but mostly Season 1.
I think it's incredibly interesting to try and analyse what exactly they were going for - first of all, for the uninformed I'd like to state that it was never intended for her to become an Alicorn Princess, take a look at #0 in picrel, bottom right.
Even with the alicorn stuff aside, Twilight really does seem like the 'chosen one' sort of hero. Looking at #1 and #2 in the top left, it appears she was singled out by Celestia to do the dragon egg hatching test, and of course succeeded. In the episode this is further developed by her failing to do anything of effect at all until the sonic rainboom. And yeah, her cutie mark is just straight up magic - no specialty or even a 'jack of all trades master of none' clause, she's just exceptional at all magic. Not to mention, yes, she's a student of the Princess and probably has access to whatever resources she desires + a quasi-slave dragon.
Okay, maybe cutie marks are more of a reflection of a pony and who they *are*, and her cutie mark being magic simply is a reflection of her monstrous dedication rather than some inherent potential?
Not really. Her full potential was 'corked' as a foal (#5, bottom middle) so her actual potential is much higher and required the direct intervention of Celestia herself to keep her grounded - so even her 'nerfed' version far outstrips pretty much all unicorns it seems! Not to mention such a point doesn't really defuse #1 and #2 or the Sonic Rainboom thing. Oh, and Celestia explicitly told her that she's one of the most powerful unicorns she's ever seen - and Celestia knew Starswirl.
This is reinforced even further by #3 in the top right. So she's a book-smart, magic-smart (both knowledge and execution), well-connected, well-funded natural leader of a mare seemingly picked by fate who gets five new super-best friends within a day of meeting them. Cool.

Some ponies try to make fillies and colts seem like they're grown-up mares and stallions in ways that are clearly sexual OR in suggestive ways. This is wrong because fillies and colts are still learning in school and growing, and it's not right to treat them like they're older than they are.
It's against the laws of Equestria and hurts the little ponies, imagine how Twilight Sparkle might feel, seeing you having pictures of fillies in a way that's not right.
When fillies and colts are treated in this way by ponies, it can have lasting damage. They might have trouble trusting other ponies, feel ashamed or confused, and struggle to form healthy friendships later in life with other ponies. These actions can leave deep emotional scars that can take a long time to heal.

18 EQU.C. § 2251: Protection of Fillies and Colts from Exploitation
(a) Offenses:
Anypony who:
(1) By use of magic, trickery, persuasion, or any other means, induces, coerces, or threatens a filly or colt to engage in any act of a mature or romantic nature; or
(2) Transports, or causes to be transported, any filly or colt across the borders of Equestria or between its various lands (such as from Ponyville to Canterlot) with the intent that such filly or colt engage in any act of a mature or romantic nature;
shall be punished as provided in subsection (b).
(b) Penalties:
Anypony convicted of an offense under subsection (a) shall be subject to:
(1) Imprisonment in the deepest dungeons of Canterlot for a term of no less than 10-20 moons, or for life, depending on the severity of the offense;
(2) A fine of bits not less than 10.000, to be paid to the affected filly or colt or their family; and
(3) Banishment from Equestria, at the discretion of Princess Celestia or Princess Luna.
(c) Definitions:
For purposes of this section:
(1) "Filly or colt" means any pony who has not yet reached their full adult size and potential.
(2) "Act of a mature or romantic nature" means any action that is suggestive of or involves adult relationships, including but not limited to:
Posing in a manner intended to arouse or appeal to adult desires.
Engaging in physical contact suggestive of adult intimacy.
Performing any act generally considered appropriate only for adult ponies.
Creating or sharing photos that depicts fillies or colts in a sexualized manner.
Holding hooves in a way that is clearly suggestive of adult relationships. This is the ideal Anonpony. You may not like it, but this is what peak performance looks like.

That there was how it all started, boy boy howdy is that not where the story ended! Princesses fixing things! Giant world threatening fights! Silly stories galore! Pink Ponies in dreamland having a time! Grand battles, simple romance, and everything in between! We got the cutest characters and the scariest monsters! Our little Princess fought to save the world with her words, her heart, her soul, and a good old fashion tussle when it came right down to it! And it got bigger and bigger until finally, here we are. Years later, looking back on the tree we’ve grown, and now we’re at the top.
All the friends who shared their art, and gave a vision to what these tales wove.
All the simple voices who helped form the story, found flaws so they could be fixed.
The /pa/ls always ready if someone had a question to help them as best they could.
These were the things that helped this story grow, keep on, and finally become what it is today. A tall tale indeed, but one worth climbing. Filled with the fruits of dozens of writefriends and artfriends and everything in between. Some big, some small, all of them a part of this world.
Thread 378 is our anniversary, and there’s no one we’d rather share it with than all our /pa/ls. Here, and in our memory. If you stopped by for a minute or wrote a story as big as could be, we’re happy to celebrate with you. Thanks for the memories.

The dies are in production, but due to the holidays we probably won't be seeing prototype coins until January. Regardless, we feel comfortable enough to start taking orders now if anyone is ready to reserve a coin based on the mint's renders.
Kickstarter rejected the campaign, but we're committed to making it happen, so we're going to open a Ko-Fi listing and run it like a Kickstarter. If we get at least 100 coin orders by January 31, 2025, we'll close the listing and mint the run. If we don't reach 100 orders, we'll refund everyone who placed an order.

I have sorted them from leftmost being the most quality and rightmost being the least quality in a tier.
S Tier: Cutie Re-Mark, School Raze, Twilight's Kingdom
Just perfect episodes, no glaring mistakes, and VERY enjoyable characters: I love Starlight Glimmer and Cozy Glow in their finales. They just have an epic and awesome feel to them (especially Cutie Re-Mark and Twilight's Kingdom). I love everything about Cutie Re-Mark and its concept about exploring different timelines where the Mane Six didn't stop the villains. Great pacing etc. And Twilight speech in the end is so goose bump-inducing - and the visuals as the Rainboom explodes as Twilight and Starlight hold each other. So fucking great. School Raze is also so enjoyable. I love how they tried to implement every relevant character to the story and how their plot intertwine with each other. Cozy Glow and Neighsay's interaction is so enjoyable to watch for example. Twilight's Kingdom is probably the most epic of all episodes. It just has that despondent feel to it in the end, as Tirek is about to destroy everything Twilight loves: Her treebrary, having her friends captured, having all the Alicorn magic... But then the reveal with the last key and how it all connects with what was set up during the entire 4th season.
A Tier: A Canterlot Wedding, The Ending of the End, The Return of Harmony, The Cutie Map, The Best Night Ever
Just overall very enjoyable and solid, though with some not so entertaining parts or contrivances - just some few problems that makes them not be fit for S Tier. Nothing much to say for this one or the next few following tiers (especially because character limit). Discord good, Chrysalis good, Starlight good, Legion of Doom good, and The Best Night Ever is such a great ending for all the buildup of the gala during Season 1.
B Tier: The Crystal Empire, To Where and Back Again, Friendship is Magic
Solid episodes overall. The Crystal Empire has some parts that are just not really anything and the other two have some stupid contrivances that aren't... ideal. But the character interactions are the focus of both and not the plot, and they do it in a pretty good way!
C Tier: Princess Twilight Sparkle, The Crystalling, Celestial Advice, Magical Mystery Cure
Yeah, okay to good episodes, sometimes. Wouldn't want to rewatch them over and over. Sometimes kind of boring: Princess Twilight Sparkle and Celestial Advice are just kind of bridgings to really start the season off; just kind of lore dumps, I guess. Magical Mystery Cure is okay, though pretty contrived and/or confusing with the Cutie Mark shenanigans and lore and with Star Swirl's spell. And of course, its pacing lays at neck-breaking speeds because they didn't make it a two-parter for whatever reason. Twilight is kind of bipolar in that episode, lol - like going from despondent to hyper, lol.
