100% Talent I feel bad for him after thinking about the lyrics for the song Cousins. The sound of the song is catchy, though. This is a really important jazz piano album if you know a whopping total of 15 jazz pianists >NOW THAT I'M OLDER
>MY HEART'S COLDER Worst 12 songs of the '70s.
>Captain & Tennille - Muskrat Love
This is a widely loathed '70s hit and for good reason--the most ooshy-gooshy and incredibly tasteless adult contempory mush ever put to vinyl. The synth effects alone make you want to lose your lunch. It could easily be the single worst top 10 hit of the entire decade and has no redeeming qualities at all.
>Barbra Streisand - The Way We Were
Barbra's pop phase resulted in this classically bad example of '70s A/C mush. Available at your local Salvation Army, chances are they'll have at least ten of her albums.
>Eric Clapton - Promises
>Eric Clapton - Wonderful Tonight
"God" seldom disappointed when it came to blues/country rockers, "Lay Down Sally", "Cocaine", and "Mean Ol' Frisco" from the Slowhand album are all classics. When it came to ballads he very much did disappoint and delivered the most banal (and unnecessarily overplayed) beer commercial music hooked around migraine-inducing guitar hooks. One night, coming back from college, I think it was, I turned on Radio Luxembourg, and it was late. I had no idea who it was, and it was actually Sgt. Pepper,“ the prog rock legend recalled.

This isn't just an honest, rough-and-ready craftsman reverting to form, because he's trying to repeat an inspired, uncharacteristically precise success. So he sounds phony at times, desperate to inject drama into run-of-the-mill material that might work in a more fluid, less fraught-with-meaning live setting. Exception: "Feel Like a Number," in which the banal critique of quantification is renewed by Seger's measured intensity. B- NIGGA HEIL HITLER

What exactly is the point in being a music "critic" i dont get it 9/10 they have nothing to do with music or the industry or even play instruments. Is it a hobby? Is it some kind of pride thing where if you cant be a famous musician you can be the guy who "knows music" and "has a good ear"? I've noticed with guys like Fantano his reviews really aren't that in depth about the technicality or meaning of the music and he seems to touch on very top of the iceberg level understanding of it. Same goes for the long-format NYT or Internet publication reviews they try to explain a whole album a guy has worked on for months, years, decades in just a few paragraphs. So whats the point? I know Zoomers like watch-a-long videos but at least in reaction videos the kids doing the reaction stop and analyze lyrics, the chat is listening to the WHOLE album in real time, and theres a discourse / dialog with the guy presenting the video and the chat. But what exactly is the appeal of a guy who JUST reviews music? Is he talking to the BAND/ARTIST and hoping they take his advice? Or is it just a hobby/filler/opinion blog People are always going on about Nevermind being Nirvana's magnum opus, & sure it was the one that put them on the mainstream map, but Incesticide is not only leaps more superior & dynamic, but LITERALLY holds the entire blueprint of 90s "grunge/alt-rock, inside itself. It's almost as if Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Lemonheads, The POTUS, That Dog, etc. etc. even Tool (just listen to Areo Zeppelin, it's like 85% an early "Tool" song.) ALL took their early cues from this one compilation.
And you can even hear how closer Nirvana themselves are to the bands that helped shape their sound (Sonic Youth, Jane's Addiction, The Pxies, Mother Love Bone, etc. etc.) This is the true catalyst & first distillation of everything most know of as "the 90s sound." Tool came out in the early 90s as one of the most unique artists with their raw approach and wild live shows, and made one of the best and definite 90s albums. Then after their debut Undertow, they abandoned what made them unique started selling out and making very polished and uninteresting corporate music starting with Ænima, but presenting it in a pretentious light, enough to make their bassist quit. And they never made anything that stands out as great as that first album ever again.
What went wrong with Tool within a few years to have this happen? Has any band had as far of a fall as quickly? Thoughts on Little Jimmy Urine as a singer?

Please help. Music is my only hope, I have a massive 5 years gap on my resume and suffer from schizoid disorder.
Why is /mu/ so desperate to divorce the concept of emo from the likes of MCR, Bullet for my Valentine, Fallout Boy, Panic, etc…? These bands are quintessentially emo. These are the bands that everyone thinks of if you say “name an emo band.” Yet, if you go on to /mu/‘s own wiki, you won’t find any of these bands listed on the emo page. Instead, it’s a bunch of gay shitty bands that NOONE has ever heard of, and a bunch of spew from punkFAGS trying to take credit for a genre that isn’t even theirs. Not everything has to be punk or a derivative of punk… Punk is fucking gay, and emo is based and blackpilled. And by the way hipsters, nobody fucking cares about your dogshit, museum curator opinions. You will never make emo less mainstream than it already is by moving the goalpost such as by declaring it to be something other than the very thing everyone recognizes it as being. The culture is the reason why emo came into existence, and the culture decided that pic related is fucking emo, so fuck you fags. is there any outro more hypnotic and dreamy than the last 3 minutes of 'Desire Lines'? wtf Fantano likes Lupe Fiasco now?
