toki no freeze alone is worth using in every boss fight for the free turn to buff/heal/attack or do whatever you want. when the boss OS's, toki no freeze makes them completely waste it. a total life saver, even if you can only use it once.
however, ringo drive is just as good. you see, unlike super magic, ringo drive doesn't require an element field; it only requires mana. so if you start the fight with super magic and then immediately max out the mana again (like by using mana gain with dualspell to do it twice) you can immediately use ringo drive on the next turn. at that point, you can cast a lot of buffs, and if the character using ringo drive still has all their soul, they can use mana gain to refill the mana in the middle of it. getting higher magic mastery will gain you more actions in ringo drive, as will equipping the apple of eden.

but still, you might be thinking that applying buffs to your whole part is more trouble than it's worth. in most cases, I wouldn't blame you. so that's why you want to get the Baalbek Stone OOPart (though sadly I don't remember where you find it. I just know that since it's a red OOPart, so you won't find it off a common enemy). it allows buffs to be cast partywide, albeit with increased cost. so now you can ringo drive and then buff your entire party's strength, dex, agility, magic, and defense, while also giving them reflect, treatment, and autorevive. it uses up a lot of mana, so you'll have to refill halfway through, but buffing your entire party is pretty damn sweet. the big issue is that since you can only equip 4 gems at once, you won't be able to get the full effect of them all. the all magic gem does give you access to every spell, but you have to actually equip the gem of each one to get the buffed versions of the spells.
