No it isn't. You seem to disregard any praise people give it for things like art or area design or story or sound design or anything else. People have written tons about Chrono Trigger over the years, you can try a little harder to find arguments. You'll find that it's not just about innovation.

I'm not saying it's all subjective, I think the game is objectively great. But it is at least partially subjective, and I accept that some people like it and some don't. I'm totally okay with you not liking the game, but you don't seem to be okay with me or other people liking it ("you are out of your mind if you think otherwise"). You make the accusation that the appreciation for the game is based on conformity or nostalgia more so than the game itself with no real proof for that belief.

I wasn't assuming anybody said it "only succeeded because no 3D games existed." You're misreading the post. I'm saying games like Chrono Trigger are still being released. So when you're comparing modern games, that includes games that are very close to CT. I'm also of the opinion that modern RPGs in general haven't evolved in any fundamental way beyond SNES RPGs outside of production values and more content. There's nothing about modern RPGs making old RPGs obsolete.
