You need to learn to decouple what a vocal minority says on your twitter feed or some pointless steam reviews and what's actually true.
If you lose over half of your customers base but the ones sticking around to eat the regurgitated slop you served up scream about how it's so good it made them cry multiple times, that gives you false data if you focus on the latter.

Here's the reality of the situation

>when FF7R2 came out, a lot of people that got burned by FF7R1 or felt they saw enough/got the nostalgia jolt they wanted, saw no need to pick up FF7R2
>some people still picked up FF7R2, hoping that things got better (spoiler: it didn't)
>FF7R2 already massively underperformed by SE own admission, which is why they went ahead to rush to finish it with FF7R3 just to get it over with
Unless SE manages a massive turn-around in quality and giving fans (not just the sliver of hardcore idiots praising FF7R2 to the heavens) and other players what they want, FF7R3 is on track to perform even worse than FF7R2.

Now I'm sure you're gonna explain to me how a super expensive AAA game that is supposedly extremely good and extremely popular (by what you're telling us) is still underperforming and underselling so heavily.

This shit is like when Disney got the Star Wars rights. It should've been braindead easy to just give fans and new audiences what they wanted and cash in on 3 slam dunk safe bets, but instead they shat the bed with their movies super hard, with only (you guessed it) a sliver of diehard idiots claiming the new Star Wars trilogy is super good.
