Considering that every single antagonist in every Fallout game abuses advanced technologies to create nightmarish conditions for absolute control, the Brotherhood honestly really have a point
>The Master uses FEV to bio engineer human beings into mutants so he can control humanity as a species
>The Enclave want to use their technologies to wipe out 90% of human beings for being 'impure'.
>Think Tank create Cazadors and want to turn the Mojave into a sick science experiment
>Elijah wants to use the Hologram technology to enslave the Mojave
>Ulysses wants to use the old nuclear missiles to bomb the NCR in hopes it'll kill the Legion too due to having no strong enemies to fight
Even the Vaults are a great example as to why technological progress for the sake of it doesn't lead to inherently good outcomes for humanity. The Brotherhood is the only organization in the entire franchise that not only understands these dangers but is actively committed to doing something about it.
