False Skies has a fun job system, and has a similar overall vibe to Crystal Project. Its only downside is job choices are permanent, which is pretty annoying for a no-spoiler run but you can hire new party members with different jobs, so there's that at least.

Dragon's Dogma gets left out of job system discussions a lot, which is fair. IMO it has extremely fun individual classes, but the actual act of switching between them isn't very interesting.

I haven't played HG, but I've played Alvora/Voidspire tactics. Fun games, but I think the job system feels a little bland after a short while

I don't think that's inherently a bad thing, just the games playing to their strengths. I can't understate how much I appreciate Crystal Project throwing away any and all pretenses of a story and going "Okay you just arrived in this land with crystals in it, go find the crystals". I think more games could benefit from not adding things (story, open world, dialogue, crafting, etc.) they don't need/want just because the devs or execs think the game needs them.

The entire point of freelancers is you pick them after deciding what jobs you like and want to use and then combine your favourites in the end game after they're maxed. Also a lot of end game characters will use Mimics instead, but the point of them is the same.
