Anytime somebody whines that X isn't as good as some age old vaunted classic known around the world it's safe to assume they're a midwit with only a surface level interest in the subjects and aren't worth replying to. Only people who don't really care about a medium or a genre and have very little knowledge of them will say such dumb things. People who actually care and who are actually knowledgeable delve deeper, have their own specific tastes, and necessarily have engaged with and appreciated a lot of material outside of go-to classics on every top 100 list.
