In theory, sure. The problem is that big companies do not see value in what they deem middling success.
If something isn't incredibly popular and selling incredibly well, it's not worth investing time and money into. The Dead Space series is a perfect example. It was turned into slop by EA and then deemed a failiure for not breaking 10 million units sold. Then with the remake which was greatly received and sold pretty well, it was again shitcanned by EA for not being popular enough.

Right now there is no company or series of immersive sims actively doing well and being worked on anywhere.
