Depends on what work you're aiming for. Dishwashing, janitors, security, warehouses, construction, factories and fast food always need entry level grunts. Keep in mind those are kind of dead end jobs unless you learn a skill that can be made into something else

White collar stuff, sure, more blue collar or unskilled stuff not really.
>How many applications should I be sending?
As many as you can. If you have a car then it opens your range of available jobs, more miles covered. 20 to start, then 100, then 200, but as many as you can
>Are training programs/internships worth it?
Idk, maybe, I don't have experience with that
