Yeah, it's easily possible. Normies don't ask a lot of questions or think things beyond surface level. Even the most mid-functioning autist I know IRL who can't pass for shit, normies just think of him as 'weird' and never guess autism, cuz normies can't be assed reading other people.

If you're high functioning and learned all the social cues and contexts, normies will instantly assume you are one of them. At most they'll only spot your occasional anxiety or melancholy and just assume you are having a low mood, that's all.

There will always be people who spot your autism 100% right away in the wild though. Those would be other autists and especially ADHDs. I can always tell who the autist is in any group as an ADHD. To me your mask is made of glass and it's easy to see through. Gives me a big dopamine rush when I piece all the subtle clues together lol. And reason I do it is cuz I fucking hate normies. I'd much prefer to look for autists to hang with and talk to, because autists usually have an ocean of depth to their character, always talking about the most fascinating and peculiar shit, special interests about cool topics etc.

You'll be fine. You'll fool normies, and those of us who you can't fool at all will prefer you take the mask off anyway, cuz we love the face beneath the mask
