That is not how depression works. If you have a goal, you aren't depressed. Loneliness cannot cause it, and in fact cures it.
Instead, your liar friend wants attention and validation, refuses to grow it within itself, is shamelessly trying to scam validation from others because it fell for its own excuses that it "needs" validation, and "can't" earn it or generate it internally. That is not depression, it is emotional laziness. And it thinks the magic word "depression" lets it scam validation from you.
