Any tips here? I'm not so bad at it in the sense of just making small talk, but getting beyond the very surface-level casual stuff is where I usually kinda run into a wall. I just can't really think of good discussion topics to bring up in the moment that the other person would probably also be interested in.

My mind always freezes and I get nervous and tense since I know how awkward I am in person and I'm very worried about messing up in front of someone I like. That's why I say the girl I'm talking about is pretty special to me, she was the first one to take an interest in me which I guess combined with her persistence over the first few days really managed to put me at ease.

I'm already in a fair few, it's not like I'm some sort of social recluse or anything like that. I just seem to always hit a wall when talking to girls I have a crush on and it's so frustrating because it seems like one of those things where the more I practice the more I actually start overthinking it and getting into my own head. I've always been a pretty shy and quiet and reserved and introverted guy too, so that doesn't help either. I've definitely forced myself to open up more over the years, but people can probably tell I'm the furthest thing from a natural when I do it.

I don't know if it's that my looks are unattractive or whatever but yeah I don't think any other girls have really ever paid much attention to me at all, or maybe it's because I'm East Asian? Other guys have told me in the past that girls won't go for Asians unless we are absolute 10/10 studs, but I feel like they were probably exaggerating and looking for excuses for their own failures lol.
