you should be suspicious of any argument that tries to say you should make absolutely devastating surgical and chemical changes to your body because for right now you can't forsee wanting to choose this one specific path. The wrongness of such an argument should be clear.

Your situation is definitely tough, and will require lots of careful and honest thought about how you want to live your life. But be super suspicious of anyone making the case that sounds like: 'if you just do this one thing, this one magical thing, everything will just be better and not difficult anymore.'
