Also wanna throw in extra 2 cents for you OP; I happen to dislike a lot of modern psychiatry. Don’t get me wrong, a lot of it is great, it's helpful to mankind, but it has to be said — it’s taken common sense for a fucking joyride for decades now. It’s highjacked by tremendous idealism, it chases this ‘healthy’ state of being. If any of us fail to resemble the healthy state of being, they throw out a label to diagnose your life into labels. Seems harmless but can actually do more harm than good.

Try a thought experiment OP. Ask yourself questions:
>I have BPD. Why do I have BPD?

On and on and on. It goes in circles, no satisfying answer or clear path forward. Common sense doesnt need labels though. Common sense tells you that you are a sensitive person who learned some sinister shit due to dealing with sinister problems. Common sense answer is to accept this sensitivity as who you are, gaining the identity through pain, and seeking to protect this sensitive soul of yours by taking care of yourself, protecting yourself from bullshit and getting into bullshit. Thats what helps.

Also forgiving yourself for your existence, understanding (you), accepting all of you, even the so-called bad parts. Those parts have value too. They are you. Back in the day people would chock your situation down to immaturity. Not the immature sense of stupidity — bpds are often sharp minded — but emotional maturity. Everyone been immature in life, all of us. Some grow out of it later than most. I grew slower too. BPDs grow slow. So just do that; grow slow and let yourself take it slow.
