the chances of finding another girl like that are slim and are only going to get lower with age. And even if I do find one I’ll still be hung up on this one and think about her. It wasn’t just the aesthetics, but also the fact that she was a responsible, functional adult who I could actually see having a life with despite the alt-girl look being a major red flag usually. She was also smart and dedicated to what she did, and I admired her for it. We would talk about life and how we were in high school and our dreams for the future and just life in general. I really connected with her even if I didn’t know it then, and I didn’t think in a million years that she would like me. She was a lesbian in high school too, so clearly she saw something genuine in me too. I wish I could just see her and tell her that we had something. I don’t think I’ll get another shot with a girl like this again. I thought things were finally gonna change and I’d be out of this rut. The life I could have had with her was a huge motivation and gave me something to live for.
