The fetal tissue produces no antibodies. The antibodies are created by other portions of the mother’s immune system in response to the B cells testing the fetal cells that end up in the mother’s blood stream to see if they are not a close enough match for what the mother’s immune system considers viable.

I’m not saying that spontaneous abortion doesn’t happen to viable embryos (it mostly checks for protein structure differences between what the mother produces and what the fetus produces, it’s not like the B cells have scientific knowledge of what constitutes a viable fetus or any way to test anything other than these proteins) or that this process catches every non-viable embryo (obviously stillbirths still happen), but the risk to a genemod fetus is very real and the more you genemod the fetus, the higher the risk is.
