unlikely, but not impossible. You need to have a mutation that produces higher number of caudal vertebrae to help the animal steer while running. Some kind of secondarily flightless open forest bird would probably be the best bet, because the naked speed of something like an ostrich won't be super helpful in those forest conditions, but being able to maneuver better with a tail would be beneficial enough the mutation could survive be elaborated upon until they have long tails.
