We don't worship animals like you, raj. We just use them as a social filter. People who needlessly treat certain animals, and only certain animals, poorly are extremely likely to treat humans poorly or just be exceptionally dumb and disordered, because we bred those animals specifically to elicit empathy and care from correctly functioning members of society. This creates some complex relationships too, where owning a certain animal allows you to filter certain people from your social circle. Widespread pet ownership also allows us to filter out people who can't pull off this mental feat that is apparently a rare skill in the human world

It's not like jeets who actually worship cattle. In the west, especially the US, "animal rights" actually means "human-animal relationship management". It's not like hinduism where we delusionally believe cattle are individuals with value.
