Aesthetic things are the hardest when in that position. Like an artist with their work, you see the faults even better than anyone and that includes thing besides appearance. Hard to see it a different way, too; that kind of self-criticism is generally ingrained behaviour which leads to human improvement and innovation. But a different perspective isn't something you can just manufacture often so it's basically hell until *something* can break the spell, even just for a particular thing
