When you have deflation, you don't need to go into debt to stimulate the economy. You can use monetary stimulus, i.e. just print money.

That's not really a big deal today though. It might be a drag in the long term. Although, if you adjust for trends in China's human capital investments, it could be argued they actually have quite good demographics

How so? China is extremely keen at technology adoption. They were quite early at rolling out 5G, such that at one point over 60% of all 5G base stations were in China. More than half of all industrial robot installations in 2023 were in China.
