I think I could, I just know it will be hard to get a job as comfy and as high paying as the one I already have, even though it's only 80k/yr it feels like a lot, and losing it would be a huge disruption. It would be devastating to lose my job and then have to work 20 more years flipping burgers to reach retirement because I can't land anything better. Not that I could even get a job like that with how many indians have taken over those roles in my area.
I want to do indie game dev as well, but success in that is so hit based that it's hard to know if what I create will be strong enough to carry me to retirement. Ideally I'd have enough for retirement before I chase that dream.
