I agree that some women do that. Jealousy and insecurity go together, but I don't think the "catty, jealous, backstabbing, fake" stereotype of women is representative of most women. Just like I think most men are decent, there are just some male assholes who are really vocal.

I've noticed that it's pretty common on this board for men to pretend to be women to create drama and it's usually what they say and/or how they say it that gives it away. Women can absolutely say mean/bad things about each other, but the way they do it usually sets it apart from the way men do. The comment criticised her appearance like an inspector judging a piece of meat. When women judge each other's appearance they don't seem to give that same dehumanising vibe.

The comment didn't say "all men " and I don't think that was implied either. I interpreted it as the poster talking about men in general. But even if they did say/mean all men, I think a guy pretending to be a woman to stir the pot would know about how the worst women talk about men online.

Imo this board doesn't exactly lean very female. The cosplay/coom threads are for the large majority men and I hide at least one new cosplay/coom thread every day. A new lolita thread doesn't pop up at that rate.
As you may already know cgl is one of the least visited lolita spaces online. The anonymity attracts a variety of lolitas. Some just want to be rude online because they can get away with it, others mostly come here because they don't like how hugboxy a lot of lolita spaces are now. Here you can give constructive criticism freely and criticise brands that are owned by other lolitas without any social consequences. This board also frequently has topics that are not discussed in other online spaces.
I could be wrong though. I'm aware that people notice the things that bother them a lot more than the things that don't, so this could be skewing my perception.
