My brother and I look exactly alike, to the point that it freaks people out (honestly, not a raw deal we’re both 6’3” and conventionally handsome with good facial features- the only difference is my eyes are blue and his are brown).
Our whole family is kind of a cookie cutter family, but that’s not really the point.
I, like the anon that I’m replying to have literally never maintained a “booze collection” because I’ll just fucking pound it until it’s gone.
Moderation has never been a strong suit of mine.
For a while I was drinking 1.75l/day of Smirnoff.
And by a while, I mean about ten years.
I was functional and it didn’t affect my personal relationships or work life, just a fucking party animal that made it a full time thing because I didn’t know how to cope with my depression and anxiety.
Eventually my kidneys gave out “out of nowhere” (quotations because it was most certainly not “out of nowhere,” but it was all of a sudden. No shitty decline in health, I just died standing up one day- they’d just quit).
When I came back to life I was on dialysis for a few months but actually got off of it which is apparently like fucking unheard of.
Am currently doing alright, and all my blood work has been baffling doctors, apparently it looks like I MAYBE drank twice a week all through those years and there’s no indication whatsoever that I was going that hard in the paint.
I still have a few beers every now and again, because I’ve finally honed some semblance of capability in practicing moderation.

Point being, I texted a friend of mine a picture of my brother’s magnificent and übercomprehensive whiskey (and whisky) collection while I was helping him move a while back.
My friend’s response?
“There’s absolutely no way you two are related.”
