Everyone doesn't understand what just happened, so they explain it in ordinary ways that makes it sound boring. Then they get on with what they were trying to do when they were interrupted." Phaser= wand of fire. Silver space suit= cloth of gold or silver. Martians = frogs. It doesn't have to be a Godzilla event, or War of the Worlds, just a way to shake the series and see what dust falls out. Comedy is what happens in-between the action moments.
Cavin: (says something innocent while trying to pry a jewel out of the keyboard)
Tummy runs through the door: "The flying chariot is about to crash!"
Calla, who was puckered up for a kiss from the oblivious Cavin looks surprised and joins in the rush to the flying horse they rode.
