When Spider-Man got powers he got fucked over the moment he used them selfishly. True he was using them to help himself and his folks but had the mentality of "Why should I use my powers to help anyone?" like you and the anons ITT are saying only to immediately be shown that not using them to help results in bad shit happening. Spider-Man can't just go "Oh well shit happens lol" he was an actual responsible kid that felt guilty over his actions and decided to use his powers for good on his own terms. It's not so simple to just use powers selfishly if you're someone with a family and obligations
