the fun thing about his characters is his self awareness . like he knows they only brought him in because of boomer writer nostalgia and just plays up the idea that irl he's a washup. the idea of a deluded superhero is just funny

i don't think you'd see any other formally famous person self roast or let writers roast him as much as west did. most guest appearances treat them with kids gloves or are just vanity projects
