Not worth it. I went trough that treadmill when I was starting in the field. I work for about an avarage wage now. Those guys didnt make that much more that I am making right now. I have physically undemanding corpo job in a field I love, I do 9-5, clock out and go on doing my hobbies. Can they say the same? When I was working with them, it almost never was simple 8 hours and gtfo with 5 day a week. Often times it was 10+, sometimes saturdays ocasionally even sundays and the stress didnt help much either.

It was absolutelly not worth it for the effort You had to put in and I'd much rather rot another 45 years where I am now than go back. Would I have a uni degree I could get promoted even higher and be set for life with even less work.

Ffs, get a uni degree in a tech field you love and keep electrician as an last resort. Id do the same could I start again. If you wouldnt start regreting it in 25 then you would start regreting it in 35 once your back and knees start hurting.
