This sounds like an actual nightmare scenario of Mecanical energy converted to electrical energy converted back to mechanical energy and then finally converted to compressing air. At that point, why not just get an engine driven compressor?

I mean technically it should work as long as you peak startup amperage of your compressor falls below your peak amperage of your generator, but it just seems like a bad idea overall. Will a 110v compressor do everything you need it to? Or do you have big compessed air needs when you do need it?
