also something you can do is use diatomaceous earth as a finishing polish. also egg whites iirc. something the Galenic and Spagyric alchemists would do is make the calx of the the original used biomass, then use that to make a "stone" for the final elixir/alcohol/etc... you have to roast the leftover apple mash into the white form, where all the carbon is removed and only the potash is left. you can use that as-is, or water wash the insoluble grit stuff out, then evaporate the remaining water. that will be a type of potassium hydroxide and mineral mix (mostly vitamins) from the original biomass. toss that in the bottle, let it sit for a few days, then do your freeze thing. not too much different than champagne clarification and finishing.
