Do you seriously think every other person in business casual or business formal dress prefers the toe box and heel design? Whether you like it or not, your credibility lies in your professionalism, and chances are that even if you're in a good place now, you could have had ten times the professional success with one half of the effort if you didn't choose to be some nasty, cheap, self-outcasting non conformist.
Suck it up for the few hours that you are expected to be a professional and stick to wearing those foot condoms outside of the office (or hopefully outside of the public eye)
