Arabs didn't even have power in the Maghreb during the High Middle Ages, let alone West and Upper Central Africa. The only region in Sub-Saharan Africa that Arabs are responsible for converting is Northeast Sudan (Nubia). Even Western Sudan (Darfur) converted on their own separately.

Southern Africa never had a Muslim political presence to begin with. So that's a complete non-factor, faggot.

In fact, most of the region's first Muslims were slaves brought over from the Dutch East Indies (Malaysia and Indonesia) combined with local South African converts, Madagascar slave converts and Swahili Muslim slaves. Their descendants are mixed race. Afrikaans was first written in the Arabic script before the Latin script.

Europeans started colonizing Africa well before Islam could properly proliferate every region. With the exception of East Africa, where there was an Arab and Iranian presence, it was entirely being spread by native Africans.

Had Europeans not started mass enslaving and genociding peoples, Islam would have spread across Coastal Southern Africa and parts of Lower Central Africa over the next several centuries.
