I literally just keep reading and hold myself to it. I just got through a slog of a book that was 682. The first half interesting and then it got into incredibly boring minutiae about shit I couldn’t care less about (it’s one of those “A History of X Country” books and half the book was about 1800s industrialization, public television, and modern day political party history). But I just reading because I like being able to finish a book and put it on my shelf knowing it’s done. I look at each book as an accomplishment, like climbing a mountain. The stuff I don’t care about will inevitably be forgotten, but there are always a couple of nuggets worth knowing and I don’t want to miss out on them because I got bored.
