Feel free to contribute brushes you have purchased. Assets that have been deleted from the store are also welcome to be uploaded here.

>CSP assets store wishlist.
https://rentry.org/Brush_Wishlist

>"How do I request brushes?"
1.) Please check the CSP rentry and encoded external rentry first before requesting them in the thread.
2.) If they aren't there, then you should ask the thread.
3.) Post a link of the brushes you're requesting. It will make it faster for the anons interested in purchasing them for the thread.

>"What brush does this artist use?" / "What brush looks like this?"
1.) Search "brush (from:artisthandle)" or "assets.clip-studio.com (from:artisthandle)" on twitter if that's where they post mainly. Make sure to set it to the Latest tab to see the artist's tweets. Or use Nitter.
2.) Search brush posts on their Pixiv Fanboxes/Booth/Patreon. Then try to see if it's on kemono or archives.
3.) If none of the searches work, then ask here.

>"My CSP is cracked so I can't use the asset store"
As long as you log into the asset store it works even on cracked copies.

>"Are there other brush sets aside from the CSP ones?" / "Has this brush set been uploaded before?"
Check the archive. Chances are if it's popular some anon has uploaded it already.

>"What brush is in the OP picture?"
Brush in the OP pic is in the CSP assets rentry. (ID:1778102)

>Afrobull is very obviously into hyper-penis futa stuff, but has to tone it down to keep the patreonbux flowing

I find this phenomenon fascinating. Any other examples?

/mmg/ - Manga Making General
Sailor Moon Eternal Edition Chapter 1
The general thread for Manga / manga-styled comic-making, manga-style illustration and related comic work. That said, everyone is welcome here.

Support each other and talk about your work or the work of others that excites you. Inking, character design, paneling / layout, writing, planning, and other discussions are all welcome.
Post resources, questions, in-progress pages, breakdowns of other works, etc. If a work is not yours, credit the maker (unless it's fucking obvious like a full page of One Piece or something).
Thanks to everyone for making /mmg/ a level-headed and helpful place. Remember, drawing and making comics and manga are difficult endeavors, and we're all in this struggle together.

Anyone using CSP with a wider color gamut monitor? How do you cope with the color picker being distorted if you force the canvas to display sRGB colors?

How is this still an issue in 2025 for CSP? Doesn't it literally make unusable for painting? Do you just have to deal with painting colors you know will be different when you export?

Can we get an art marketing/branding thread going on? What have you found that works?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ii3srVQyuHU
I like David Choe's Multimedia storytelling approach. The goal here is not bettering one's art, but improving the reach of your work and value through narrative.

I also notice there is a success ceiling for artists that just improve skills without marketing and business. You can reach maybe a couple thousand people and then you plateau. Sometimes artists get lucky and out of sheer will, power through this. Most of the time it means you need to work on your marketing.

I've been drawing for 4-5 years now and while I saw consistent progress in understanding fundies and increasing my ceiling of what I can draw for clients (with a ~week of work and references) I feel like my floor for random sketching and doodling didn't move an inch from when I first understood fundies five years ago

I see artists casually drawing multiple napkin sketches every day with various characters (some original some existing), in various poses, in different emotions, with interesting shapes, inventing creature or mechanical designs, creating rough scenes, in different styles etc and it feels unreachable to me since I don't even know what has to be going on in my head to think of stuff like that and then put it to canvas, if I don't have a goal I simply don't know what to draw

Is this something you can learn or if I don't have the knack I simply don't and should be content with my constructive effort drawing skill?

I'm going to be honest, I'm not sure what to do.
I finished up senior year, in my final critique of all times, I passed but I was told I wasn't reaching the level I should for the art I want to make.
I said "They're right I better go ahead and go somewhere to get help." The idea of going to an atelier or academic revival schools fine. Certain ones don't seem so bad. The problem is that I can't find it? I decided to go to the NYAA to see student work and I hate to say it but because I couldn't see the studios and just the final works, all the final works were genuinely worse than anything I saw all the bachelors doing at my place.
I checked GCA specifically work of alumni. I found Joe Brogie's art, done on a trip to Rome, aside from being more finished his art is almost exactly like mine. In his painted copies he has trouble with linseed yellowing, at least I assume in his St. John copy that's what's happening.
Looking at his work in his site works like from Rome, he has learned to do figure drawings academically but he doesn't bring it over to shorter time, and more direct drawings, it's like using models is a unique skill separate from any other art practice, which would be a distinct branch of art that wouldn't build on my foundation. This is after he went to GCA, I have to ask, what is there for me if I won't change?
I don't think I have money for it especially if I won't get grants or loan. Especially in the USA, in Europe I can only assume it's similar enough due to the classifications and I'm not sure how foreign aid works.
It's concerning if not a little depressing. I should have expected it. I was told I wanted to learn things no school teaches anymore, but I didn't know it was really to this extent. What do you do when you hit the ceiling but there's no way out, nowhere left to go?
Do I just raw dog it and hope works sell in spite of flaws, put myself out there no matter what? Do I just pray somewhere like that exists while blindly choosing? What do I do?

The Annotated Snowglobe,Part One
SnowglobeCastle
Once upon a time, stuck in a waiting room, I drew a random picture in a new sketchbook I brought to kill the time. It was a demon head, and then I thought of Why it was there. And spawned this story, taking a decade and 180 strips later it is only two thirds told.

It was very rough in the beginning, unplanned, unconceived,a haphazard journey that my sleepy mind oozed onto each page, and only after 30 strips in was taken seriously. And I watched the story grow.

I will share this with you all.

***DISCLAIMER***

These are "storyboards",never meant as Product, but wound up on my website because I had nothing else to upload. I will "translate" the chicken scratch wriwhere neccessary, and toss a few tidbits of facts for consideration. So,any and all crabs who decide to deride the story will be simply stating their retardation by doing so.

With that said,enjoy.

How do people choose a nickname to go by? Everything I make up is either not unique enough or too autistic and I'm not sure if I would want to consistently be referred to by that name forever.

How do Japanese artists pick some random name 15 years ago and get away with still using it?

What kind of visual library do you need to paint or draw like Giger? How do you even come up with stuff like this? This kind of doodling weird shapes and still being able to make them look perfectly realistic and believable is always very impressive to me. It's very different from drawing things like humans for example, because humans exist in real life and you easily can look at references how they look like. But when you draw these weird alien shapes, where do you get the references from? How do you know how to draw it in order to make it look believable?

>I don't know how to use these links!
>Are they encrypted somehow?
>What the hell do I do with them?
No, they're not magnets or infohashes; they're just plain old URLs that have been encoded. We're doing this to keep bots and scripts from recognizing them as URLs and harvesting/reporting them. The recap posts at the top of the threads have GIFs or WEBMs explaining how to use them. Also, some of the encoded links *may* have multiple layers - like ogres ... or onions! You might have to "peel" them more than once to get to the good part.

/dtg/ - Drawing Tablet General
wacom_cintiq13wx_cintiq_13hd_13_interactive_945191
Why you should not trust youtube shills:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VH1WEYF8rlA
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Twy5Wo8m284

Do not worry pressure levels. 1024 is more than enough.
Remember to ignore all chinese shills. They often post paid twitter promos from random artists. It's all shilling, ignore it.

Recommended tablets:

>Screenless:
Used Intuos 3, 4, 5, Pro, One by Wacom

>Display:
Small (10-11"): Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite
Medium (12-16"): Samsung Galaxy Tab S8/S9 Ultra, used iPad Pro 12.9" Gen 1-5
Large (22"+): Cintiq 22, Cintiq Pro 27

Avoid:

>XP-Pen, Huion, Gaomon and every other Chinese brand making Wacom imitations
Poor build quality, pens with wavy lines, wobbly nibs, broken tilt, issues registering light pressure, terrible customer support, uncalibrated displays. All Chinese brands have the same problems. Check out the webm to understand how bad they are.
Do not be fooled by myths like "Chink companies are just as good as Wacom now" - they've been saying this for over 10 years, nothing has changed.
Chinese companies have also been proven to shill on 4chan. You will see dozens upon dozens of posts in this thread by a chinese schizo shill, who will either be bitching about the OP, gaslighting as a Wacom fan, making pointless spam posts or giving terrible advice (like recommending Huion). Just ignore and report him.

>New iPads
Massively overpriced and overhyped.

>Microsoft Surface Pro
More optimized for palm rejection than good quality drawing. Wobbly lines when drawing slow and straight.

>Cintiq 13-16"
Completely outclassed by the Galaxy Tab Ultra & iPad

>Cintiq Pro 16, 24, 32
Overpriced, QC issues, loud fans, proprietary mount interface

>Lenovo
Worse than Samsung in every way.

I think I just don't like drawing
s974dlurqsf81
I've been spending about a few months going on and off about drawing. I'd get encouraged to draw and look forward to it when I'm busy, but when the time would come I'd have to force myself to draw and rarely cared that much. I'd try books and shit as a guideline to help but I'd just lose interest in those. I did get a sense of accomplishment when finishing a drawing, but I didn't enjoy the process as much as I liked to have and really just wanted to finish whenever I started. I see other people talk about drawing as a pastime and I realized I never saw it as that, I saw it like something I was obligated to do, like studying for an exam. I think I just enjoyed the idea of drawing and making finished works instead of actually drawing, hell, I'm pretty sure I spent more time here and thinking about drawing than actually drawing. I guess it's just not for me. I don't know whether to feel relieved that I don't like it, or bad that a hobby I thought was neat actually wasn't for me.
Thank you for reading my blog post

/dsg/ dynamic sketching general
peter pan
-TRUE UP 2025 edition-

plantanon/carpal tunnel anon, I'm bringing it back, here's a copy paste of the previous OP:

This is a thread for those who want to go through dynamic sketching as a group in an effort to improve drawing skills starting from the very fundamentals. Here we share the tedious grind, crit and encourage each others.
Please specify the week you're on and if it's dynamic sketching 1 or 2 when posting your work.

>What's Dynamic Sketching?
A class by Peter Han that focus on improving draftsmanship, construction and design. It is intended for beginners, but the second class can be useful even for /int/. It covers a wide variety of subjects, but not figure drawing.

>Where to get it?
magnet:?xt=urn:btih:0aebc0f02e6c179b62e04c69af3e5adee3abee12&dn=IC-STUDY

\Course\Form and Construction\

>Peter Han says to get a lot of material, are they needed?
Your choice. Honestly, just draw. Use what you have. But if you want, you can get it. You can do it digitally, but try to refrain from using ctrl+z and other features. At the end of the day though, do what you want. As long as you put the work you're gonna see progress.

>I'm /int/ (as if, pyw faggot), should I bother?
If you want to expand your range of subjects, I recommend it. It also covers a lot of fundies that doesn't hurt to revisit. I suggest you start with DS2 though.

>SCHEDULE
>DS1
week 1: Lines and ellipses
week 2: Organic forms and textures
week 3: Perspective, basic of light
week 4: Form intersections
week 5: (Optional) Materials: markers, paint, pencils, etc.
week 6: Plants
week 7: Redesign
week 8: Preview of DS2: military vehicles
>DS2
week 1: Recap of DS1
week 2: Insects
week 3: Bones
week 4: Animals
week 5: Cars
week 6: Military vehicles
week 7: Planes
week 8: Reworking, Portfolio, New redesigns
*every week of DS2 include a redesign homework

Mess up a lot, get that mileage in, but most importantly pyw

I want to have a depiction of a door on my ceiling. The door is supposed to be slightly open. Like, not open, but inviting you to think about going through it. It's a imaginary door the fuck out of here. The only tool I have is 4mm wide black tape, and the ceiling is white. After a few minutes of doodling I came up with this design. What do you think? Can it be improved upon?

I guess its biggest issue is that the way it's positioned is that it's going to be usually viewed at a sharp angle, somewhere far in the up-right direction, and the perspective I drew is from bottom-middle, but I don't have any better ideas. My ceiling is slanted, which means that the angle is going to be even sharper.

**Strive for quantity AND quality.**

Anime Studying:
>Copy anime references exactly and draw them from memory. Use illustrations, screenshots, anime figures, 3D models, etc.
>Don’t copy recklessly. Use construction, color theory, and other fundamental concepts to rehearse a drawing process that you can later easily manipulate for original artwork.
>Post all of your anime studies. Post even when you’re told not to. Create an art community that actually draws and improves together instead of just talking about it.
>Number your attempts and link to your previous posts.
>Critiquers should lead by example by posting their studies.

General Anime Style Discussion:
>Questions about achieving certain styles/techniques/compositions etc.
>Drawing methods, study habits, resources, tutorials, tools, software, etc
>Be specific and try to post a sample of your study attempts before asking for help.

**Draw copies from good anime styled references to mindfully up our mileage, internalize appealing aesthetics, and learn from each other’s processes and knowledge.**

What did I mess up
IMG_0023
Hello, anons,
I’ve been working on Loomis and this is the rare model that I didn’t trashed by drawing him.
So the errors I spotted :
-the head is too inclined
-the head is too much 2D and not 3D (Picasso like = what I didn’t want to draw)
-the hand is bigger than the head
To play my one advocate, the model on Pinterest is cut out on the head.

I've been drawing (inconsistently) for years now and I thought this doodle looked good, but an anon on a different board said it was bad. Am I blind to my own lack of skill?

Art Progress Thread
2024vs2025
Post a comparison between something you've made a year ago and something you've done now.

I find that whenever I'm feeling unsure about my progress, remaking an old drawing helps gives me a boost. Hopefully, this does so for you too.

I'm not a master of course, but I'm still happy with it, so I'll start.

Painting interiors
1724350511813901
Forget about perspective, how do you paint interiors?
I'm working on this VN project and I just realized I've been more focused on characters than on backgrounds. I need a day/night variation for some rooms.
Here's my attempt so far, something is throwing me off and I'm not sure what.
I'm going for the anime/ summertime saga look, so no lines.

anatomy/perspective

why is the distance from the neck to the shoulder about symmetrical at a three quarter angle for women, but not for men? is it perspective because men have broader shoulders, or are male necks placed differently? maybe i'm retarded and this isn't common?

nobody answered my question in /beg/ or /sqtddtot/, but i was curious because taco's point character drawing book says you should shorten the farther shoulder, but this didn't seem like the case with the female references i found

feeling a bit dejected, do people still appreciate artists?
e330ca7bcff44441903c39702a0f8284
I enjoy drawing and getting better. Like leveling up my drawing skill in the runescape game of life. I'm just wondering if people will even appreciate the work that went into making traditional real art anymore though. Part of the fun of practicing a skill is that others notice that it takes talent and effort. However, I don't know if anyone even likes human made art anymore :(

Should I hate my old art?
5164327_orig
I've read that alot of artists tend to get embarrassed by art they've made only six months ago because of how much they progress. Additionally alot of my artist friends say they can't enjoy their own art because they view it too critically.

Meanwhile I'm proud of my art from up to two years ago and really love looking at what I've made. Is this a sign I've grown stagnant and gotten too comfortable with where I am?

How old is "too old" for entering the art industry? Say I started at 26 and diligently practiced, how common is it to break into an industry job in your 30s? Or is it one of those "you have to have been doing it since your teens, otherwise there is too much catchup to do"?

pic rel is not my art, i'm only a year and a half into learning art and while I'm absolutely in love with it, I have this inner regret where I wish I had discovered drawing earlier in life because now i'll be in my mid 30s before i'm even close to being industry-level, if that...should I just give up on this dream and accept i'll be forever forced into a hobbyist/commission role?

So I decided to show you a little art lesson.

Twitter Art
GoGPzdEXAAALtP7
Is having a twitter account quasi-essential as an amateur artist? It seems to be rather advantageous, if you somehow manage to get a decent following on there(which is a steep hurdle ngl). I would like to avoid making an acc, if there are better ways to share my art. The place seems to be promoting digital art ripoffs which I find a bit boring, but beggars can't be choosers

Before you criticize PewDiePie, keep it in mind he drew for 100 days straight. That's better than 98 % of /ic/. Also considering he is just a hobbiest and a full time E celeb, he could easily be better than most of /ic/ if he cared enough to pursue art seriously.

How to draw 8 hours a day? I normally draw about 1 hour a week but that would take me 127 years until I make it to 10k hours (the hours required to master the skill) but if I draw 8 hours a day I can get to 10k in about 3.3 years. I heard some Chinese artist draw for 16 hours dayily which would only take about a year

What's the secret to avoiding burn out?
2009-09-18-199433
How are some artists able to keep up their momentum for decades, while others crash and burn and have to fight the motivation to draw? What separates the artist who can do art 10+ hours a day for 20+ years, vs the artist who loses interest later in life? How do you avoid being burnt out on art? It doesn't matter how good you get, if you end up being burnt out.

/mmg/ - Manga Making General
Melancholia_c003_006

Am I going to make it? I poured my heart out drawing this, which I think is alright for my level (been drawing for four years). But I posted it to several sites, and it got completely ignored.

But then, a 1 am meme picture I randomly uploaded gets more traction than something I actually poured my heart into and now I'm probably just going to go on another drawing hiatus. Can someone help me with cracking the algorithm? What do I need to do?

ik the artwork/critique board isn't really meant for critiquing artwork, but this head has been giving me a looming sense of unease for the past hour or 2. i think theres some glaring structural issue but i can't seem to discern it. could anyone articulate what they see wrong anatomy-wise? i'd appreciate it.
