Is a 1500$ display tablet a sensible investment if I'm trying to become a pro, or should I save and keep using my screenless tablet that still feels unnatural after 5 years? (I know because I've used both types in electronics shops and Wacom showrooms).
Special question for US based d/ic/ks: What are your plans for next year when the tariffs increase? Are you stocking up on anything or will it not effect you so much?
I've drawn for a long time now but have no direction with my art. I want to get better at faces and heads since a good face can carry the art. Hell even getting eyes good would be a boon.
Anyway I've only drawn from imagination and haven't learned fundamentals (It's obvious) so where should I begin? I've tried going through the advice given to brand new artists like using fun with a pencil or drawing boxes and shapes and such but nothing clicks or it just seems like busy work that I can't apply to my draws. I'll post more art if it helps diagnose my shit. thanks

1.)Search "brush (from:artisthandle)" or "assets.clip-studio.com (from:artisthandle)" on twitter if that's where they post mainly. Make sure to set it to the Latest tab to see the artist's tweets. Or use Nitter.
2.)Search brush posts on their Pixiv Fanboxes/Booth/Patreon. Then try to see if it's on kemono or archives.
3.)If none of the searches work, then ask here.

Poor build quality, pens with wavy lines, wobbly nibs, broken tilt, issues registering light pressure, terrible customer support, uncalibrated displays. All Chinese brands have the same problems. Check out the webm to understand how bad they are.
Do not be fooled by myths like "Chink companies are just as good as Wacom now" - they've been saying this for over 10 years, nothing has changed.
Chinese companies have also been proven to shill on 4chan. You will see dozens upon dozens of posts in this thread by a chinese schizo shill, who will either be bitching about the OP, gaslighting as a Wacom fan, making pointless spam posts or giving terrible advice (like recommending Huion). Just ignore and report him.

No, they're not info-hashes or magnets; we're encoding the links to keep bots and scripts from recognizing them as URLs and harvesting/reporting them. You will see a GIF in the first two or three posts (the previous thread recaps) that explains what to do. Don't understand some of the terms in the GIF? Google them. I need a faster method than just doing inking the traditional way on a 2D raster tool.
Like, have anyone tried to do inking on vector tools like inkscape or 3D tools like blender?
I think Coloring can be optimized with stuff like GMIC random automatic fill color, but not sure.
About rendering, I think it can be made using a normal map or depth map tool from 2D textures, then use blender to create a 2D normal map rendering.
Then all would be compositing in Krita, I assume.
usually when i take a week off drawing i come back better than when i stopped. im not sure if its more of an improvement than if i just kept drawing though. torn between taking occasional breaks and constant practice. i dont really like to take any time off just because i feel like if im not practicing im not getting anywhere

Seems stupid, but I figured out I can get more stuff done by separating sketch, inking, matte coloring and shading into 4 sessions instead of trying to get everything in one day.

Isn't this exactly the "wrong" way to draw? Why isn't he drawing boxes? What's going on?
These are just 1 minute practice sketches but if you check he's finished pieces you'll see he's clearly very skilled.
It is really worth the price to draw digital, I mean I will notice a difference drawing or should I save the money and keep drawing in my mini tab which I think handles the work perfectly.

I have tried: Morpho, Huston, Loomis, Proko, Goldfinger, Will Weston, Xiao (the chink), and Hampton. Are there any others? Why do westerns keep vomiting this stupid argument? This is why most western designed characters look like deformed freaks. Several of the most succesfull franchises in the world have characters with identical silhouettes
I can pay in several ways.
I love art but I have always had very poor fine motor skills, I didn't learn how to tie my shoelaces until I was 12. I have always wanted to do art but it feels like I have a genetic disadvantage and must work 10x harder than anyone else to succeed.
Is there any way I can improve this?
I have started drawing consistently for the past few months and I have progressed but I still feel like if I was born properly I could have been way better by now.

I draw using the aformentioned model (H610 Pro V2), using Krita as my drawing software. I began to notice that every so often, the tablet would stop registering my pen strokes but for an instant; at first I thought it was just a temporary glitch or fluke, but that is not the case. It keeps occurring, and it's hindering me from drawing. I've never had this issue before.
I've already uninstalled and re-installed the Huion driver, restarted the PC. I've got no leads to go on, and some advice or help would be appreciated.
