All of these look like art gallery/attelier style education tho. Cast drawing is like, the most classical thing possible for these schools.

Yeah, but he doesn't (I think) phrase it as "the way", it's just an useful practice to get started. You should, if you are a beg, draw shit in simple and proper lighting, that's the point of casts. You can achieve the same by drawing using old noir movies, photos of sculptures or even figurines, doesn't matter.

It's also, really really beg stuff. It doesn't teach you most of the stuff you achieve anything.
