No they're not. Hentai manga is just manga as far as japanese are concerned, and it's not some big jump to switch to drawing all-ages manga from adult oriented manga. Numerous well respected authors started out drawing hentai manga, and some have gone right back.
Ero-guro in specific is separated... because it's ero-guro. Not because it's porn, but because it's eroticized gore, which will always be fringe.

Why is it that everything I read about manga on this website is completely made up horseshit? I can understand that the knowledge isn't there, but you'd at least expect some people to be accidentally right sometimes. I don't think I've seen a single post in the past year that is actually on the mark regarding manga. It's almost impressive.
