While this is a very salient point, I think it is entirely dependent on the outcome and skill of the artist. Some skilled and successful artists do this too. If you're shit then no amount of fiddling will fix your garbage.

The learning content these days is shit though, because everyone already caught on to the tutorial grift if your art is mid, so it's actually a mid circlejerk. Mid tutorials is flooding the art space just like AI is. A bigger picture view of this is just the Internet making everything accessible and worth less.

While this might seem true in theory, people have very short attention spans plus a lot of old art is wiped off your feed. In your own words, we're being flooded by so much content and then brain's not gonna have space so the new content replaces the old. You're also ignoring the cultural zeitgeist. While a lot of past artists produced amazing art, people don't really give a fuck because it doesn't resonate with them. A shitty meme image is likely to get you more likes than a more subtle but deep artwork. Just look at the death of fine art. Which is why a lot of artists lean towards that kind of content, despite how mediocre it is.

I should have worded it better. My issue is that so much content is just in your face surface level bait. And brainrotted lurkers like that shit on instinct. Artistry takes second fiddle. Honestly now that I think about it, food is like that too, but leans into snobbery. If you've seen where haute cuisine is going, it's very circlejerky towards being weird and different more than being good and balanced. The unhealthy trend is worrying.
