Both countries also invest in each other considerably, Portugal has a considerable presence in Brazil's energy and communications sectors, while Brazil uses Portugal as a launching pad for Europe, with Embraer being a recent example, and both countries participate in transcontinental projects like laying underwater cables to better connect South America and Europe
Just because Joãozinhos like to shitpost online doesn't mean people hate eachother, in fact Portugal in general has great relations with all its former colonies.
