and before WW1 there was no Polish style at all, because Poland had no native middle class, hence almost no ethnically Polish architects who could have come up with some idea. The degree of our pitiful condition regarding national architecture is that in late 19th century some of Polish intelligentsia literally organized a contest to create the Polish national style artificially, because it didn't emerge organically.
