I've been in since the late 00s and I can recall exactly one success story, which was a BMP-2 driver who was fucking crazy, but in a good way.
Other than that every single female I knew (not a single one ever made it to our platoon, thank god) had just been a shit ton of trouble.

>terminal slacker, slacked her way out of the unit to some cushy truck driver spot in a sleepy hole somewhere
>the kitchen accountant lady I mentioned before
>fat ugly butch, got to the unit, sucked up to the CO, started snitching on everyone, fucked up her leg, spent 3 years on sick leave, got knocked up, spent 4 years on maternity leave, got back to the unit and instantly transferred elsewhere because it wasn't a "fulfilling" assignment
>mom type chick in her 30s with okay attitude, lasted a relatively decent time in a guard unit (5 ish years), eventually promoted to some desk job
>a toxic butterface who tries to fit in by being nasty, fairly lazy, has some beef with her squad leader, transferred to a different unit as a result, turns out she was the problem
>whore who tries to fuck everything that has a pulse, the first man to say "no" gets accused of SA, spends months trying to clear his name, turns out she had a history of doing this from her last unit
And that's just off the top of my mind.
