Lethal Weapon 2 was just fine, and frankly should've been swapped with part 3, story-wise, since the South Africans actually fill in the blanks on Riggs' backstory pretty dramatically in a way that honestly would've been much cooler had we had a movie in between the first and wound up being the second installment.

You've been driven to become the flipside of the same coin that is the "modern audience," which needs every movie to pass the fucking Bechdel Test to be considered "non-problematic."

Also you're a fucking coomer brained retard if Mel slamming a blonder Boer stood out to you but not the scene of the wise-cracking Afrikaaner bad guy getting a mild scolding from the Big Bad for a failure and constantly checking the floor, making the Big Bad ask him why, to which Wise Crack Afrikaaner responds "I'm just making sure I'm not standing on any plastic." The Afrikaaners weren't exactly the most complex characters, but no one in modern Hollywood is having Nazis crack genuinely funny jokes that might even in the slightest bit humanize them.
Lethal Weapon 2 was a just fine sequel, and it aged fine, you're just not used to watching films as a time capsule of when they were made and released because zoomers are historically retarded. If anything, the latent-anti-gun sentiment of Lethal Weapon 3 with much "Cop Killer Teflon AP Boolets" shit was a sign the franchise was getting long in the tooth. 4 was the weakest of the franchise, and yet again, still hardly an utterly shit action film. The Hollywood you hate really only settled in by the mid/late-2000s.
