Red herrings are definitely put out there, but honestly schizophrenics are reliably self-perpetuating bullshit machines who will do that work for them. You need to apply Occam's Razor a LOT here.

If the theory seems needlessly convoluted when you start actually thinking about it, and the motive doesn't ultimately involve making money or gaining political power and control, then it's most probably completely fabricated. Some things ARE suspect, but schizos then take it into wildly retarded directions or add pointless convolutions, because their brains are damaged and they have an emotional NEED for the connections to exist at all costs, even at the expense of the theory.

For instance, the idea that 9/11 was a missile attack or that it was a carefully planned demolition doesn't hold up to serious scrutiny, when you start analyzing the actual logistics of pulling that off it becomes completely ridiculous. HOWEVER, what are valid and useful avenues of questioning is who funded the terror attack and who knew about it, and why the feds failed to act in time, almost like they allowed it to happen (they totally did).

Crisis Actors is another big one, the typical theory is that the government would put shitloads of effort into needlessly complicated theater with infinite loose ends (the people pretending to die), when realistically, they would instead just murder people for real, or allow real crimes to happen even when they see them coming. It's SO much easier and simpler to let innocent people actually just die than putting on a show which could be unraveled by the countless people involved.
