I've seen this before and I've always wondered why they have it. It seems like such a massive amount of space on a small ship, and the only benefit seems to be keeping the helicopter out of foul weather. But helicopters do fine on the deck of aircraft carriers, right? So why do they need hangars on corvettes?
And I just feel like it isn't necessary to even have a helicopter on every fucking ship in the first place. A helipad sure, that gives you the option of using a helicopter. But do you need a dedicated helicopter for each corvette?
I don't know much about naval stuff so I might be way off but I'd appreciate if anyone could explain it to me.
