Go back and read some of the posts. The exact opposite seems to be the case. In conflict, excess males are needed. After a war, a lack of males has to be dealt with. Neither fit well with monogamy.
Go read "Sex at Dawn". They explain the logical contortions that theologans have to perform to sustain support for monogamy. Including publishers requesting that they put in a final chapter, running counter to their research, in support of monogamy.

Monogamy works during times of stability and extended peace. If anything messes with the male/female balance, it goes right out the window. Or your society collapses and the theocracy gets burned at the stake. See Henery VIII for what happens if just one guy can't get a couple of wives.
